The origins of the CiviGuard founding team stem from Singularity University's inaugural Graduate Studies Program. We were told to form four teams with a single directive: positively impact the lives of a billion people within 10 years. In pursuit of that goal, team Xidar was born and with it, some of the ideas that form the basis of CiviGuard today.
Zubin WadiaMr. Wadia is CEO at RedRock IT Solutions and CTO at ImageWork Technologies – both companies are primarily focused on providing process automation solutions to the U.S. government. Ten years experience designing, developing and deploying applications written in C, C#, C++, Perl, Java, JSP, JSF, Javascript, Erlang, Scala, VB, Eiffel & Ruby languages. His main area of research is “Intelligent Composites”, a self-coined term for a resilient and scalable class of applications that loosely couple key software components but tightly define the conversations between them.
Dr. Yitzhack SchwartzDr. Schwartz was the youngest graduated MD in Israel. He is a non-conformist thinker, prolific inventor and original scientist. By virtue of training, education, profession, publication and experience, he is an expert in Structural Heart Disease, Cardiac Imaging and Guided Therapeutics.
Dr. Schwartz has vast experience in almost every field of Medical Device development and marketing. Moreover, he has developed and implemented a unique systematic approach to forecasting future technological development based on Intellectual Property assessment.
Simon DanielMr. Daniel is founder of Moixa, an innovations and design group that rethinks axioms across multiple domains and creates IP/licenses and spins out new ventures. A major focus is next generation human interfaces in the Moixa Design company (e.g. folding keyboards, advanced human interfaces, multitouch 3D spheres), and in new ventures such as Moixa Energy – which pioneers renewable energy solutions for homes and portable devices (e.g. invented and launched USBCELL re-usable batteries).
Mr. Daniel is a natural scientist (Cambridge University 90-93; theoretical physics, including computing and cell biology) and holistic innovator, operating in the spirit of Buckminster Fullers ‘Comprehensive anticipatory Design Scientist’, with short-term deliverables being sustainable everyday consumer products and longer term being insights and actions on intractable challenges facing physics/energy, climate and humanity (e.g. technology co-dependence, environmental disaster mitigation).
Dr. Justyna ZanderDr. Zander is a postdoctoral research scientist at Harvard University (Harvard Humanitarian Initiative) and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems in Germany. She was a visiting scholar at the University of California in San Diego, CA, USA in 2007, and a visiting researcher at The MathWorks in Natick, MA, USA in 2008.
She is traveling a lot all over the world launching new projects in an interdicsciplinary context. Researcher, designer, book and articles author, programmer, futurist, and manager in R&D.
Timothy ColemanMr. Coleman served as Deputy Political Director on a successful U.S. Senate Campaign and he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Legislative Assistant. Coleman also worked as an Account Executive for a full-service marketing communications firm for leading business-to-business and business-to-government IT&T clients. Currently, Coleman is a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a Master of Public and International Affairs with a Major in Security and Intelligence Studies.
Shawna PandyaMs. Pandya holds expertise in telemedicine and telehealth. Ms. Pandya is a graduate of the International Space University (MSc Space Studies, '07), holds a BSc (Hons.) in Neuroscience, ('06) and is in the midst of completing an MD, both at the University of Alberta. Ms. Pandya is a published author in the fields of telemedicine for developing nations, telesurgery and space technologies for medical benefit.
Laurence HayesMr. Hayes has spent the past twelve years working in Corporate Finance and Investment Management, having trained as a lawyer and chartered accountant. In 2005, he received a MSc in Neuroscience from Imperial College London. His scientifc work is focussed on the creation of biologically inspired neural networks and artficial general intelligence.
Alexander BobrovnikovMr. Bobrovnikov is an avid futurist with degrees in Economics and Business Informatics from Russia. A humanist, with a deep understanding of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience and IT - he offers CiviGuard key cross-sectional insights as a mentor.
Christian TomMr. Tom graduated from Stanford University with a degree in US History and a minor in Science, Technology and Society. He has extensive experience in media and news reporting, having worked at ABC News and CNN as well as serving on the senior staff at The Stanford Daily and as co-president of The Unofficial Stanford Blog. A native of New York, he has lived and studied in Beijing, China as well as visited over 20 countries. In September he will join Google, Inc., where he will work on a media sales team based out of New York City.
